Kevin Henkes Retelling

Students used six boxes to retell the story of LILLY'S PURPLE PLASTIC PURSE.
In the beginning, Lilly loves school and her teacher, Mr. Slinger, until her took her purple plastic purse away from her.
In the middle, she wrote an unfriendly note to Mr. Slinger and put it in his teacher bag.
Next, she read a nice note Mr. Slinger had written to her and placed in her purple plastic purse before returning it to her. She felt horrible!
At home, she told her parents about her mistake.  She and her mother wrote a nice note to Mr. Slinger to apologize. Her father even made the class homemade cheezy snacks.
In the end, Lilly told Mr. Slinger she was very, very, very, very sorry.  She had a great rest of the day!
Finally, students met with a partner to retell the story in all of its parts.
