Literary Pumpkin

Students each took a turn in creating our literary pumpkins for PETE THE CAT AND THE FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS project. 

Small Moments (narrative story) Writing Celebration Party

We spent a morning celebrating all of our accomplishments as story writers.  Students made covers for their best stories.  Then, they walked around and read each other's masterpieces.

  They wrote compliments or left stickers on the celebration sheets in honor of each author. 

Reading Celebrations and Goals

We just finished a reading unit on the Habits of Good Readers. Students wrote down their celebrations as readers under a happy face.  Then they thought about habits that they need to practice more and listed them under their "goals".  Check out the celebrations and goals of these readers with good habits!

Field Trip Fun

We had a great time on our field trip to the public library. We all checked out books ( due in three weeks;). We are off to a great start to becoming great readers!   The librarian who read fun pirate stories had us all acting like pirates!  "Aye aye Captain!"
